Connect ChatGPT

ChatGPT connects to WeWeb through a custom plugin. You add the WeWeb MCP server URL in your ChatGPT settings, then sign in to WeWeb and approve access.

Custom plugins live behind developer mode, so you turn that on first. The server is available at:

Custom plugins are only available on paid ChatGPT plans. If you are on the free plan, you won't see the developer mode toggle.

Add the WeWeb plugin

1. Click your profile picture, then click Settings.
2. Go to Security and login, then toggle on Developer mode. ChatGPT asks you to read and accept a warning about running third-party tools. Open developer mode settings
3. Go to Plugins, then click the + icon in the top right to create a plugin. Add a new plugin
4. Name the plugin WeWeb.
5. Copy the MCP URL from this page and paste it into the Connection field:

6. Click Create and confirm you want to create the plugin.
7. When your browser opens, sign in to WeWeb.
8. Click Authorize and approve access.

WARNING

ChatGPT renamed Connectors to Plugins and moved the developer mode toggle. Our video walkthrough still shows the previous menu names, so follow the steps above for the current screens.

Once the plugin is created, ask ChatGPT to list your workspaces and projects. If it comes back with your project list, you're connected.

CONTINUE LEARNING

ChatGPT can now call WeWeb tools. Each tool is a single action the agent can run, such as creating a page or adding a table.
